Yesterday in class we discussed the earliest forms of photography. I was particularly interested in the daguerreotypes that were on display. I found it extremely fascinating the great lengths that photographers went through at the time to produce just a single image, in this case, that in unable to be reproduced. I loved even more the care that was taken to preserve a photo in an ornate box for each individual photo. I wish today, socially, that photo albums were left in the places we venture to, as to learn more about the people and places we see on a day to day basis.

Self portrait project complete!! I really enjoyed shooting for this project. I choose a location that was "frolicking in the flowers" like, but the natural elements made it easy to render a pretty picture. This particular picture is interesting in concept, however after critique in class it does appear to have too high contrast with the highlights. I actually used my favorite of the 3 as my profile picture for the blog which is much nicer :)
